Orange Pecan Loaf

 

2/3 c. sugar

¼ c. butter

2 eggs

2 c. flour

1 T. baking powder

dash nutmeg

1 c. pineapple-orange juice

½ t. vanilla

2/3 c. chopped pecans

 

Preheat over 350 degrees.  Grease 9x5x3 loaf pan.  In large bowl, at medium speed, beat sugar, butter and eggs till smooth. In a small glass measuring cup, combine the juice with vanilla.  Alternately ad flour mixture and juice to sugar mixture.  Stir in nuts.  Bake 1 hour.  Cool.  Make glaze. Arrange pecan halves on top if desired. 

Glaze:  1-2 T. orange juice, 1 cup powdered sugar.  Combine and mix till smooth.  Pour on cooled bread.
