1 egg
1 c. honey
¾ c. brown sugar
1 T. lemon juice
2 t. baking powder
1 t. cinnamon
1 t. nutmeg
1 t. ground cloves
1 t. allspice
½ t. salt
2 ½ c. flour
1 c. chopped walnuts
1 4 oz container candied fruit
Icing
1 ¼ c. powdered sugar
5 t. water
1 ¼ t. vanilla
Mix first 10 ingredients and 1 ½ c. flour, with mixer on
low speed, beat until well blended.
With wooden spoon mix in the remaining flour, nuts and fruit. Preheat oven 350 degrees. Spread onto parchment paper lined cookie
sheet. Bake 20-30 minutes. Cool on wire rack. Lift cookie out of pan with edges of parchment paper. Cut into bars. Drizzle with icing. Store
in tightly covered container.
