2 c. brown sugar
2 c. flour
½ c. margarine, room temperature
1 c. walnuts, chopped
1 egg
1 c. sour cream
1 t. baking soda
1 t. cinnamon
1 t. vanilla
2 c. chopped apples (about 2 medium)
Crumb topping
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray 13x9 pan with cooking spray. Combine sugar and flour in large bowl. Cut in margarine until mixture in finely crumbed. Stir in walnuts. Measure out 2 cups of the mixture, press firmly into prepared
pan. Beat egg slightly, mix in sour
cream, baking soda, cinnamon and vanilla.
Combine with remaining nut mixture until smooth. Gently stir in apples. Put into pan over crust, smooth top. Sprinkle evenly with topping. Bake 35-40 minutes. Cook cake in pan on wire tack. Cut into 24 squares.
Crumb Topping
Mix together ¾ c. flour and ¾ c. sugar in bowl. Cut in ½ cup margarine with pastry blender,
until mixture is crumbly.
