German Casserole

 

2 c. (1/2 of an 8 oz package) noodles

1 c. (1 pound) saurkraut

1 pound ground beef

1 egg

½ c. soft bread crumbs

¼ c. milk

1 t. salt

1/8 t. pepper

1 T. butter

1 c. tomatoes

 

Cook noodles according to package and drain.  Stir in drained saurkraut.  Mix beef with egg, bread crumbs, milk, salt and pepper.  Roll into 24 balls.  Brown in butter, stir in tomatoes.  Spoon half of noodle mixture into 13x9 pan.  Top with half of meatballs, repeat.  Cover and bake 350 degrees for 45 minutes.
